OUR VISION

The Numurkah Kindergarten, in conjunction with the children, families and community strive…

… to create an inclusive, nurturing environment for all children which fosters confidence, independence and encourages active learning through play-based experiences.

The Numurkah Kindergarten is managed solely by a committee of parents elected at the Annual General Meeting.

The Committee meets monthly, and all parents are Welcome.

These meeting are a great opportunity to meet other parents and to have an input into how the kindergarten is managed.

The Committee employ a Service Coordinator to manage the day to day running of the kindergarten and reports back to the Committee.

We employ Three Early Childhood Teachers and six educators to be able to run two four-year-old kindergarten groups – Cockatoos and Parrots and two three-year-old kindergarten – Turtles and Koalas

Children in can benefit from an extra year of learning, playing and making friends, with the introduction of funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten. Going to a kindergarten program is an important step for young children. It is strongly recommended for all families. Research shows that attending a kindergarten program improves children’s health and wellbeing, helps them to develop strong social skills and encourages a love of learning. The evidence is clear that two years of quality kindergarten are better than one.

An additional year of play-based learning, led by teachers and educators, is a transformative experience for children. Three-Year-Old Kindergarten programs will be tailored to meet the needs of children. Play-based learning helps children to build important skills such as language, math’s and science concepts, in addition to how to manage their emotions and get along with others. Children also develop their imagination, curiosity and a love of learning when learning through play. In a kindergarten program, early childhood teachers and educators support children’s learning and development by offering them a range of experiences and activities that are both stimulating and fun. Your child’s learning and curiosity will be encouraged through experiences and activities such as exploring the natural world, being exposed to new ideas and solving problems.

Three-Year-Old Kindergarten is an initiative that makes Victoria the first Australian state or territory to offer two years of universal funded kindergarten. It’s a reform that will change children’s lives for the better. Talk to us about how to enroll today.
